| Thanks for
your inquiry on regrinding Ford Model A & B camshafts. These profiles were designed by Harvey J. Crane, Jr. after his 45 years of frustration in trying to regrind the stock Ford Model A camshaft with the problems of grinding into the core (barrel). WHEN A CAM LOBE IS GROUND INTO THE CORE THE RESULT IS A BADLY BENT CAM! |

Undercutting the core (barrel) solves this problem. Camcraft Cams will ONLY produce these reground Model a & B camshafts with an UNDERCUT BARREL! This is an EXPENSIVE process, therefore the TOTAL COST is considerably MORE than a normal reground Model A camshaft. After undercutting the barrel, the STRAIGHTENING PROCESS requires more time than REGRINDING! Please call Charles Reichard for a quotation on regrinding your GOOD USED stock camshaft. Your used camshaft should have a center bearing minimum diameter of 1.557 inches (new is 1.560 inches). These profiles are produced on a Berco grinder using master cam plates from design data by Harvey J. Crane, Jr. These CNC masters are produced on a Landis 3L CNC camshaft grinder. This 3L machine sells for $800,000! |
